Le 26 décembre 2004, un séisme de magnitude 9,1 au large de la côte ouest de l’île indonésienne de Sumatra avait engendré d’énormes vagues. Plus de 220 000 personnes ont été tuées, dont plus de 160 000 en Indonésie.
